Playback Images is an Amsterdam-based production company that produces high-quality documentaries, TV shows and series for cinemas, linear TV, on-demand channels and online. Whether it is a documentary or a collaboration with museums or brands: Playback Images is an all-round creative production house with in-house full service post-production facilities and a strong journalistic background. We develop formats, write scripts and take care of the production and shoots. We take care of the finishing, from post to delivery, and arrange the desired distribution.

We develop non-fiction titles and programs in multiple genres such as science, nostalgia, true crime, journalism, human interest, nature and history. We have a wealth of experience in research and dealing with various types of archives. The combination of this with newly shot material is a real signature in our productions. Something with which we also leave our mark in a form that fits this time.

Our team is well attuned to each other. For each production we determine the most suitable division of roles: think for example of shooting at extreme locations such as in the water, in nature, at home or abroad but also on editorial, creative and journalistic level.

We are a member of the NAPA (Nederlandse Audiovisuele Producenten Alliantie), which provides a collective voice to independent professional producers. The approximately 80 members are active in various disciplines, including feature films, drama series, documentaries, animation, interactive productions and games. The professional association aims to promote the common interests of its members and strengthen the production climate.
